Whether or not it's a horror game is arguable, but it's undeniable that it is an action game. No, it's only Doom 3 that is using darkness to that extent, the two first games are burning with the strength of a thousand suns in comparison. Give it a go if you're interested, if you don't like it you can always stop playing The thing about video games is you get to decide whether you enjoy it or not. The remastered version is supposedly better optimized, but allows you to use the flashlight and gun at the same time. So, is it a good game? Is it at least a decent game? If so, which version is the best? I've heard the original is terribly optimized for modern computers, though I'm not too worried about it. Since then my tastes in games have changed, and I think giving it another shot on PC will be worthwhile. What's the story here? My only experience with the game was playing it for about 30 minutes on Xbox and hating it, but that was 10 years ago. Some people say it's a shallow experience, some say it's overall a solid game. Basically everyone says the game is too dark, which I absolutely agree with. I've heard people say the inability to use the flashlight and the gun at the same time ruins the game, and others say it's an interesting mechanic. I'm interested in trying out Doom 3 but there seems to be a huge divide regarding whether or not it's a good game.
